[Similan Islands] [Bon Island] [Tahcai Island] [Richelieu Rock]
Koh Tachai, about 25km further north of Koh Bon, is a relatively large island with a Thai government national park facility for rangers. Tachai Reef in the east offers relaxing dives over a gentle, white sandy slope with blocks of coral dotted around, creating a scene of calm and beauty. There are so many leopard sharks here that it's also called Leopard Reef. Sometimes they swim so close to the shallows that they can be seen from the boat.Spotting them is relatively easy.

The leopard sharks here are extremely gentle, so it's possible to swim up close and take a photo with them. The key is to approach very slowly from an angle where they can see you, not from above or behind. When their tails are facing you, swim out in a curve until you come into their view.
