[Similan Islands] [Bon Island] [Tahcai Island] [Richelieu Rock]
Shark Fin Reef is a rocky reef that lies offshore of Island 3. The site gets its name because at low tide, the tips of the rocks rise above the surface of the water and look like shark fins. Several huge rocks overlap each other, and because they seem artificial, there is a rumour that they are ancient remnants of Sundaland. In strong currents you can enjoy exhilirating drift dives. Expect to see bigger species as well!

Sundaland is a huge landmass that sunk at the end of the Ice Age and is said to be where our ancestors developed civilization. The Moken people on the Surin Islands near the Similan Islands, are said to have inherited the daily lifestyles and cultures of Sundaland. Moken means people immersed in water, or the sinking of the younger sister of our ancestors' queen.
