[Similan Islands] [Bon Island] [Tahcai Island] [Richelieu Rock]
Elephant Head Rock is between Islands 7 and 8. It gets its name from the shape of the rock in the middle of the ocean, which looks like an elephant's head. With huge, overlapping granite boulders, there are several swim-throughs that create a mystic scene. The flow of water is also good, and in the early morning you can expect to see bigger creatures, sharks, and scenes of shiny fish being caught. Extra-large giant trevally often enter the shallows looking for smaller fish. This is a dynamic site typical of the Similan Islands.

This site has some of the strongest currents in the Similan Islands. With migratory fish and species of shark, the diving is very dynamic. Depending on the timing of the tide, it may be necessary to swim against it for a while, so try to save energy by making good use of sheltered areas behind the huge rocks dotted around.By moving from rock to rock using each as a shield, much air and energy can be saved.
